There are a few key factors that can make purchasing restaurant flatware a breeze. We break out our flatware into different weights to help make your choices easier. The standard in restaurant flatware consists of 18/0, 18/8, and 18/10 Stainless Steel. These numbers refer to the percentage of chromium and nickel in the flatware. Each pattern contains 18% chromium as well as either 0%, 8%, or 10% nickel content. If you need your flatware to be magnetic then you will want to use 18/0 but if you prefer flatware with a higher resistance to corrosion and a silver-like shine than we suggest going with 18/8 or 18/10. Plan Ahead and Stock up on Restaurant Flatware Today!
Economy Flatware is all 18/0 Stainless Steel which simply means that it has 18% chromium content and 0% nickel content. This flatware doesn't hold it's silver-like shine as long as 18/8 or 18/10 Stainless Restaurant Flatware but it is magnetic and can be used with magnetic flatware retrievers. Economy Flatware is definitely the low cost option but it will have the shortest lifespan.
Medium Weight Flatware contains a mixture of 18/0 and 18/8 Stainless Steel depending on the pattern of your choosing. Notice that the 18/8 restaurant flatware will have an 8% nickel content and thus will not be magnetic. Restaurant Flatware designated as medium weight will be a heavier and more durable than light weight and economy flatware.
Heavy Weight Flatware contains 18/0, 18/8, and 18/10 Stainless Steel depending on the pattern you select. This restaurant flatware has a higher luster and is more resistant to corrosion due to the higher nickel content.
Designer Flatware is similar to our heavy weight flatware but it has some unique and more stylish patterns. This restaurant flatware consists of both 18/10 and 18/0 stainless steel depending on the pattern.
