In recent years, we've partnered with A LONGER TABLE, an organization that works in tandem with local schools and students to strengthen how food is served and what it makes possible. ZESCO has helped A Longer Table design cafeterias that emphasize fresh, scratch-made meals served through school-run cafeterias.
ZESCO is located in the Canal District of Indianapolis, Indiana. - a high visibility and pedestrian friendly neighborhood. We are proud to use public art to tell our story and create a more vibrant area.
Kitsch'n Lights (2016)
Inspired by ancient lanterns and the perforations found in common restaurant utensils-namely colanders and pizza screens-Kitsch'n Lights makes use of such ready-made forms to create an immersive and sculptural light installation. At once decorative and functional, Kitsch'n Lights highlights the intricate beauty of its perforated forms in contrast to the utilitarian purpose of its source materials.
Located along the side of ZESCO's 640 N. Capitol Ave building, directly on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.
These modern day lanterns are constructed from commercial restaurant vegetable colanders and pizza screens, lighting - spectacularly lighting over 60 ft of the cultural trail between Capitol Avenue and Roanoke Street.
Kitsch’n Window is a public art collaboration with ZESCO and the Visit Indiana campaign. This collage of commercial restaurant tools is visible on the south side of the building at 707 N. Senate Avenue.
